As President for Evtex, Janae is responsible for brokerage functions throughout the Coastal Bend, South Texas, and Houston markets. She has 32 years of experience as a successful commercial real estate broker and consistently provides successful results for a diverse set of clients and properties. Janae represents a variety of corporate and individual clients and investors with their acquisition/disposition requirements, with a keen ability to navigate complex transactions.
Career Highlights
Janae began her career supervising third-party marketing efforts for office portfolios throughout Houston TX. In 1998 she was hired as a leasing agent for Transwestern Commercial Services.
In her first year there, she was an integral part of the leasing team that procured the 165,000 square foot PricewaterhouseCoopers lease transaction for Louisiana Place in the CBD, the largest office lease transaction executed in Houston for that year. In subsequent years, Janae took a lead role in procuring leases for clients owning buildings in nearly every submarket of Houston. In 2002, Janae was promoted to Marketing Director and honored with the coveted Transwestern award for “Most Leases Made” for the Houston Region.
In 2003, she returned to Evtex, the family business, to focus on land, investment sales, office and industrial deals. In 2017, Janae expanded the Evtex brand to South Texas and the Coastal Bend where she currently represents a portfolio of land listings and investment properties consisting of more than 900 acres.
Some of her landmark transactions include the Port Bay Ranch, the historic “Sea Gun” waterfront resort property, the Sweatman Ranch, and the Stellman Ranch, to name a few, all of which combine for nearly 3,000 acres of brokered transactions in the Coastal Bend since 2018. Janae is steadfastly committed to lending her unique skillset toward closing transactions with end-users and investors who share her resolute passion for the culture, history and ecology unique to the Coastal Bend.
In line with her commitment to conservation and sustainability, Janae serves on the board as President of the Aransas First land trust, where the mission is to identify, acquire, and protect sensitive Coastal Bend habitat while working to increase public awareness of ecosystems unique to the area through education, access and participation.
Janae also assists with promoting a healthy climate for business and responsible development and serves on the board of the Aransas County Partnership Economic Development Corporation, which is dedicated to business development and retention, entrepreneurship, innovation/technology and workforce development.
