Janae Evans - President, LeasingAs President of Evtex Companies, Janae is responsible for marketing and leasing functions for clients with office and industrial assets within the Houston area. She has eighteen years of experience as a project leasing agent and consistently provides successful results for a diverse set of clients and properties. She is currently overseeing leasing duties for a portfolio consisting of 1 million square feet of office and industrial projects.

Janae began her career supervising third-party marketing efforts for a four-building office portfolio consisting of 250,000 square feet for Evtex. She successfully increased the occupancy at Plaza Fountainview from 50% to 95%, executing 59 leases in the first half of 1998 alone, including direct leases, renewals and expansions totaling more than 57,225 square feet. In 1998, she was hired as a leasing agent for Transwestern Commercial Services.

In 1999, she was an integral part of the leasing team that procured the 165,000 square foot PricewaterhouseCoopers lease transaction for Louisiana Place in the CBD, the largest office lease transaction executed in Houston for that year. In addition, she played a vital role for Koll Bren in representing a newly renovated vacant building in Houston’s Southwest submarket by achieving a 40% absorption rate for Forum Place after only 12 months of leasing activity.

Over the next few years Janae took a lead role in multiple projects. These projects included, procuring the 50,000 square foot Sterling Bancshares sublease/direct extension at 2550 North Loop West on behalf of Intervest Companies; as well as the 40,000 square foot renewal and expansion with Walter P. Moore & Associates at 3131 Eastside in Greenway Plaza on behalf of Killam Companies. Janae also held a lead role in the procuring 50,000 square foot Goodman Manufacturing lease at 2550 North Loop under Intervest ownership. As a result, the building was stabilized at 95% occupancy and sold at an above-market price the following year. In 2002, Janae was promoted to Marketing Director and honored with the coveted Transwestern award for “Most Leases Made” for the Houston Region. In 2003, she returned to Evtex, the family business, for the sole purpose of personalizing services for a select client base and honing the focus of creating asset value.

In 2007, Janae spearheaded the Evtex assumption of leasing/management duties at Mitchelldale Business Park on behalf of Falcon Southwest. In twelve month’s time, more than 36 transactions were executed for a total 144,410 square feet; thus increasing occupancy nearly 14% on a project that had not achieved an occupancy level of 80% since Falcon Southwest purchased the asset in 2004.

Janae graduated cumlaude from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature in 1989. Janae is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and a member of the Houston chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) organization and has served on the CREW Outreach Committee and most notably co-chaired the 2006 Golf Tournament committee which raised a net total of $108,000 to benefit a local children’s charity. She also has served her local Toastmasters club in a variety of positions, including Vice President of Public Relations.
